The third Laghu Udyami Sammellan of LUB-Punjab was organised in Batala on 20/10/2018 (the first two being organised at Dera-Bassi & Sirhind). This was also a sammellan cum Seminar, with the MSMEs department, on the topic of making interlocking-tiles from industrial slag/waste (Manoor). The Seminar was presided over by LUB-Batala President Sh. Ravinder Handa. LUB-Punjab was represented by:
- Sh.Samir Khanna – Gen.Sec.LUB-Punjab;
- Sh.Vijay Talwar – Incharge/Prabhari Batala cum VP LUB-Punjab & Convener National Power Committee LUB;
- Sh.Avnish Parmar – Joint Gen.Sec. LUB-Punjab
- Sh.Rishi Arora – LUB-PWC member;
- Sh.Vinesh Shukla – LUB-PWC member;&
- Sh.Vikrant Sharma – Media/Press Sec.LUB-Punjab.
MSME Department was represented by:
- Sh.Pramod Kumar; &
- Sh.Anurag Singh.
The guests were welcomed with flowers, & the seminar started with the paying floral-tributes to the photo of Bhaarat-maata & Lord-Vishvakarma, & then national song vande-maataram was chanted! Sh.Ravinder Handa welcomed all the guests, & said that. LUB-Batala has also been organising such seminars in association with other industrial organisations, for the benefit of MSMEs, & it also convenes regular monthly meetings to get the first-hand information of the MSME problems there.
MSME official Sh.Pramod Kumar educated the Batala-entrepreneurs & LUB members about the use of industrial waste/slag, & said that, they should not throw it away on roads, instead a very useful thing, the inter-locking tiles could be made out of these, & this could bring benefits to one & all. The department officials also displayed this process through a documentary played on the screen, which gave a vivid description about how the small MSMEs could make use of this.
Sh. Samir Khanna said that, LUB-Punjab in accordance with the directions from NWC, is organising such Laghu Udyami sammellans in all LUB-units, & the Batala sammellan is third in this endeavour. He narrated the various efforts of LUB-Punjab being made to get the MSME problems solved, the one such problem was of Batala focal-point plot holders was grave in nature, as heavy penalty with interest was imposed on the entrepreneurs who could not get the possession. LUB-Punjab raised this issue with the then industries minister Punjab Sh. Anil Joshi, & got the interest & penalty of an entire decade (marred with terrorism) waived for the much relief of Batala MSMEs. Similarly at other places, many problems were got solved. He then got the pamphlets of LUB-Punjab distributed there through Sh.Vikrant Sharma & Sh.Avnish Parmar, which were carrying the achievements of LUB both at national & state level as well (Pamphlets attached herewith).
Sh. Vijay Talwar congratulated LUB-Batala for the successful conduction of LaghuUdyami Sammellan cum Seminar, & informed that, such activities are being carried out throughout the country, to observe the silver-jubilee year celebrations, where in LUB is reaching out to its all members, in more than 350 districts of across the length & breadth of India, from J/K to Kanyakumari, & from Assam to Goa. He also informed that, it is due to the efforts of LUB that, the all electricity connections &details of invoices are now available online. He also said that, LUB is making efforts for the constitution of Industrial Facilitation Councils at district level, in accordance with the guidlines of MSME Act 2006.
In the Sammellan/Seminar, some entrepreneurs showed their willingness to join LUB. LUB-Batala enrolled following as new members:

- Sh.Ram Prashad.
Sh. Vinesh Shukla paid the vote-of-thanks ! He thanked MSME officials for providing the guidance to members about the optimum use of industrial slag/waste. He also thanked LUB-Punjab representatives for giving LUB-Batala the opportunity to organise the Laghu Udyami Sammellan, & also for taking stand for the causes of Batala MSMEs on the request of LUB-Batala, whenever the need be! He then invited all to join for the lunch!
