On 17th June, LUB-Punjab office-bearers, namely;

1.Er. Sh. Vinod Jain (past National President and prabhari LUB-North);
2.Sh. Dinesh Lakra (National Sec. and prabhari LUB-Punjab and Chandigarh);
3.Adv. Arvind Dhumal (President LUB-Punjab);
4.Sh. Vikrant Sharma (Media/Press Sec.LUB-Punjab);
5.Sh. Swarn Singh Kang (President LUB-Mohali & Ex.Member LUB-Punjab);
6.Sh. Ajay Mahajan (VP LUB-Mohali),

on their pravaas, went to Dera-Bassi (Distt.Mohali), and convened there a meeting with the representatives of MSMEs. Following entrepreneurs of Dera-Bassi were present:

1.Sh. Anil Sharma;
2.Sh. Pradeep Mongia;
3.Sh. TK Chandra;
4.Sh. Viney;
5.Sh. Vikas Grover.

Past LUB-Chandigarh President Sh.PD Mongia was specifically present. Many problems being faced by MSMEs of Dera-Bassi were discussed there, prominent amongst them are:

1.Water shortage;
2.Electricity related;
3.Pollution related;
4.Infrastructure (roads etc.).

Sh. Dinesh Lakra said that, LUB has been relentlessly working to get the problems of MSMEs solved throughout the length and breadth of India, as it is the only industrial organisation of pan Indian presence for small scale industries, and has presence in more than four hundred and seventy-five districts across all states, from J/K in north to Kanyakumari in the South, and from Assam in the NE to Goa in the west. He said that, it is with the efforts of LUB that a separate MSME ministry was constituted at the center, during Vajpayee govt. He said that even in Punjab LUB has been able to get many MSME related solved, notably:

1.Batala focal point plot holders’ penalty & interest of 12 dark-years was got waived off, through the then industries minister Sh. Anil Joshi;
2.Jalandhar focal point enhancement issue was nearly solved through the then industries minister Sh. Tikshan Sood;
3.All possible assistance & requisite guidance was provided to LUB-Phillaur unit for Phillaur industrial area declaration in GLADA plan;
4.Water treatment issue of electroplating units of Jalandhar was raised with the then CM Punjab Sh. Prakash Singh Badal & relief was got to many units of Jalandhar;
5.Excessive GST rates on diesel & auto engine parts issue of Phagwara, & Phillaur industries & sewing machine parts of Sirhind industries & plywood industry of Jalandhar were raised with central govt. & in many cases rates were reduced with the efforts of LUB.

Adv. Arvind Dhumal informed Dera-Bassi industrialists that, LUB has got representation in Central Pollution Control, where its National VP Sh. RK Bhardwaj is the member. So, for any Pollution department related problems, Sh. RK Bhardwaj could be invited to Dera-Bassi for all sort of guidannce. With regard to electricity related matters, Sh. Vijay Talwar, who is Sr.VP LUB-Punjab, NWC member & Convener National Power Committee could be invited to guide Dera-Basi industrialists. The other issues too would be brought to logical conclusion, once the LUB unit is installed in Dera-Bassi. At this Sh.PD Mongia, Sh. SS Kang, Sh. Ajay Mahajan persuaded the industrialists to join LUB. With their efforts and able guidance of Er. Sh. Vinod Jain, the new LUB unit (14th complete unit of LUB-Punjab) was established there, in the following manner:

President – Sh. Anil Sharma;
Gen.Sec. – Sh. Pradeep Mongia;
Treasurer – Sh. Suresh Gupta.

Sh. Pradeep Mongia & Sh. Anil Sharma informed LUB-PUnjab delegation that, the membership contribution of eleven members has been received, & rest will be shortly making it good. in all more than forty industrialists have confirmed to join LUB there, & many more members would be enrolled in LUB, with in a short span of time. They assured that, the complete list & members’-contributions will be handed over to LUB-Punjab in the presence of National President Sh. Jitendra Gupta, on his visit to Dera-Bassi on 3rd of July, 2018, in a well organised LUB-Seminar there. They also requested for the permission to open an LUB account in Dera-Bassi, which Sh. Vinod Jain assured them of quick release.
