Laghu Udyog Bharati Delegation Meets Gujarat’s Finance and Industry Ministers on Morbi Industrial Concerns
A delegation of Laghu Udyog Bharati – Gujarat State and Morbi District met Hon’ble Finance Minister Shri Kanubhai Desai and Hon’ble Industries Minister Shri Balvantsinh Rajput at Gandhinagar to present the key concerns of industries in Morbi.
During the meeting with the Finance Minister, the delegation strongly appealed for a reduction of GST on ceramic products from 18% to 5%, considering the sector’s competitiveness and challenges. They also urged the continuation of subsidy benefits for the paper mill industry while revising GST slabs. The Finance Minister responded positively to these requests, assuring due consideration.
In the interaction with the Industries Minister, the delegation raised the cash flow crisis faced by Medium enterprises due to the MSME Act’s 45-day payment mandate. Since their suppliers largely belong to the Small and Micro categories, industries in Morbi are struggling with financial strain. The delegation requested suitable amendments to ease this pressure. The Minister acknowledged the concerns and assured that the matter would be taken up for further discussions and cooperative solutions.
