LUB Pune – MPCB Awareness Programme Successfully Conducted
Laghu Udyog Bharati Pune successfully organized its Monthly Programme for July 2025 on Friday, 25th July at Savarkar Hall, MES Garware College, centering on the theme of Environmental Compliance & Awareness. The session was graced by key officials from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), including Mr. Babasaheb Kukade, Regional Officer (M.Tech in Environmental Science), and Mr. Navnath Awatade, Sub-Regional Officer, who brings over 25 years of expertise in the field. The event shed light on MPCB’s pivotal role in mitigating air and water pollution, enforcing the plastic ban, and managing eco-sensitive zones. The speakers elaborated on critical aspects such as the online consent process through the Maitri Portal for establishing and operating units, understanding environmental clearance protocols, and the significance of color-coded classification (Green/Orange/Red) based on pollution impact. Additionally, the enforcement authority of MPCB in handling non-compliance and regulatory matters was highlighted. Mr. Awatade assured consistent coordination with LUB members to streamline certification and procedural challenges. The event also witnessed a moment of pride as Mr. and Mrs. Prafull Thote of Samudra Electronics Pvt. Ltd. were honored for their commendable contribution during Operation Sindoor. The evening marked a meaningful exchange of knowledge, reinforcing strong ties between industry and regulatory bodies.
