TEEM Scheme Consultation 2026: Ministry of Textiles Engages Industry Leaders for MSME-Centric Reform

Ministry of textile held National Industry Consultation on Feb 19, 2026 at Udyog Bhawan, Delhi, to refine TEEM scheme with industry inputs for effectiveness & inclusivity. The meeting was graced by the august presence of Textiles Secretary Smt. Neelam Shami Rao, Additional Secretary Shri Rohit Kansal, and Mumbai Textile Commissioner Smt. Vrunda Desai from the Government of India. Senior ministry officials elaborated on various aspects of the scheme and invited constructive suggestions from industry representatives.
LUB delegation—National President Shri Madhu Sudan Dadu, Textile Group National President & Chittor State President Shri Mahesh Hurkat, members Gaurav Agarwal & Deepak Sharma—welcomed it as key step for textile investment, tech upgrade & jobs.
Key pillars (Teem Scheme): – 1. Access to Affordable Finance. 2. Operational Excellence 3. Enhance Cluster Ecosystem. 4. Cluster Competitiveness, Innovation & Branding. Easy finance (collateral-free loans, guarantees, capex credit, interest subsidy); Operational excellence (modern machinery subsidies, Atmanirbhar textile machinery); Cluster strengthening (gap assessment, infra like warping/sizing sheds, yarn banks, worker housing, testing via Textile Service Centres); Competitiveness (cluster index, AI innovation). 
Key Suggestions: – LUB delegation supported TEEM objectives and proposed key suggestions for micro & small enterprises.
LUB delegation endorsed TEEM goals and offered key MSME-focused suggestions, including interest rate subsidies, dedicated MSME provisions, direct and timely subsidy transfers to entrepreneurs' accounts, up to 40% extra support for Indian-made machinery, power tariff concessions, solar plant/equipment subsidies, land reservations with plug-and-play facilities for micro/small units in clusters/parks, transport aids, and special waivers for international environmental/quality certifications.
LUB expressed confidence that effective, MSME-centered rollout of TEEM will empower India's textile sector for global competition, driving export growth and massive job creation
