The Laghu Udyog Bharati – Goa Chapter's newly appointed office bearers recently met with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, at his office. The new team included Goa State President Smt. Pallavi Salgaocar, General Secretary Mudit Agarwal, Treasurer Vibhor Keny, Vice President Jayesh Raikar, and Joint Secretary Rahul Parab. During the meeting, the team apprised the Chief Minister of the chapter's achievements and activities over the past two years. They also discussed upcoming initiatives for the new term and sought the Hon’ble CM’s support for their plans.
Key proposals presented included a request for space to establish the Laghu Udyog Bharati office in Goa and support from government departments for capacity-building programs focusing on sustainability, skilling, and knowledge workshops in collaboration with MSME DFO Goa. The team highlighted their plan to conduct a membership drive to include more MSMEs in Goa and initiatives to formalize informal micro-units (IME) through onboarding programs in association with the MSME DFO office.
Further, discussions included the implementation of central and state government schemes by the Directorate of Industries, Trade, and Commerce (DITC) and the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) to improve infrastructure within industrial estates. The team emphasized the need for expediting the implementation of the RAMP system (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) and proposed setting up a District Industry Centre (DIC) in South Goa to better support MSMEs in the region.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister assured his full support and directed the Industry Secretary to take the proposals forward. This meeting marked a significant step for the Goa Chapter toward strengthening MSMEs, improving infrastructure, and promoting industrial growth in the state.
