Today, the executive team of Laghu Udyog Bharati – Chandigarh Unit had a highly engaging and meaningful interaction with Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, to discuss several key issues related to industrial growth and infrastructure in the region. We are truly grateful for his valuable time and the constructive approach he demonstrated during the meeting.
During the discussion, we submitted a detailed proposal to the Deputy Commissioner highlighting two important aspects. Firstly, we recommended that the Office of the Industry Department (under Director Industries, Chandigarh) conduct a comprehensive study of the existing businesses operating in the Industrial Areas Phase-1 and Phase-2. The objective of this study would be to assess business viability, understand operational challenges, and identify growth opportunities. Such an initiative would serve as a strong foundation for policy formulation aimed at fostering a more supportive ecosystem for start-ups and emerging entrepreneurs.
Secondly, we emphasized the need to promote architectural symmetry across Chandigarh’s industrial zones. While commercial plots have been granted permission to enhance their facades — resulting in landmarks like Elante Mall, Hyatt Hotel, and Novotel — similar scope is often denied to industrial plots. We humbly requested that the Chandigarh Administration and the Architecture Department consider allowing facade improvements for industrial buildings as well, in order to preserve the city’s planned aesthetic and visual harmony.
Laghu Udyog Bharati remains deeply committed to contributing toward Chandigarh’s industrial and economic development, and we look forward to continued collaboration and further dialogue on these important matters.
