A significant meeting on the roadmap for the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) was held at Lok Bhawan on 19 May 2026 with R. N. Ravi, Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal. The interaction focused on strengthening entrepreneurship, skill development, and MSME-led economic growth across the state.
The delegation from Laghu Udyog Bharati included Saroj Kumar Sahoo, Paul Kumar Mitra, K. K. Seksaria, Arunangshu Chowdhury and Shuvam Banerjee. Senior officials from MSME Development & Facilitation Office, National Small Industries Corporation and Punjab National Bank also participated as key stakeholders during the meeting.
A detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the Entrepreneurship Development Program roadmap was presented before the Hon’ble Governor. During the discussion, the Governor emphasized three fundamental pillars for initiating successful entrepreneurship development initiatives — willingness, practical “how to” guidance, and access to finance or basic funding support.
The Hon’ble Governor further encouraged focused efforts toward women entrepreneurship and empowerment, promoting “Stories of Success” through model entrepreneurs developed via Skill Development Centres, and conducting awareness programs to educate aspiring entrepreneurs about various government schemes under the long-term vision of Laghu Udyog Bharati.
He urged the organization to work towards developing at least 100 entrepreneurs by the end of 2026 and inspired the gathering with the message, “Better to light a candle than curse the darkness.” The responsibility entrusted by the Hon’ble Governor was wholeheartedly accepted by the organization.
An interactive session was also held during the meeting, where the Hon’ble Governor expressed happiness and appreciation for the various activities and initiatives being undertaken by Laghu Udyog Bharati in the field of entrepreneurship and MSME development.
