The much-anticipated Third Edition of Gramashilpi Mela, the flagship initiative of Laghu Udyog Bharati–Karnataka in collaboration with IMS Foundation, was inaugurated on 17th July 2025 by Smt. Jyothi Patil, Hon’ble Mayor of Hubli-Dharwad City Corporation, at Hubballi.
This seven-day celebration of rural craftsmanship brings together over 50 master artisans from Karnataka and neighbouring states, showcasing a vibrant spectrum of handmade products that reflect India’s rich cultural legacy and traditional artistic excellence.
The event not only creates a platform for rural artisans to connect with wider markets but also plays a vital role in preserving and promoting indigenous crafts. Supported by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Government of India, the mela stands as a strong example of efforts to revive, sustain, and promote India’s rural artisan economy.
Visitors to the mela can experience a wide variety of handcrafted items — from intricate textiles and terracotta works to traditional jewelry and eco-friendly home décor — offering a glimpse into the living traditions of Bharat’s craftsmanship.
