Today, a delegation of European start-ups, including Ecomet Refining from Italy and Eneris from Poland, visited India as part of the "EU-India EV Battery Recycling Technologies Project" under the European Commission. This initiative is aligned with the EU-India Trade and Technology Council, with participation from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India.
The delegation met with teams from Data Group, Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) Haryana, LUB National, and other MSME representatives to explore collaborative opportunities in EV Lithium Battery Recycling Technologies. During the meeting, the European start-ups shared their interest, views, and proposals on how advanced recycling technologies could contribute to India's emerging EV sector, focusing on sustainable battery life cycle management and environmental responsibility.
This initiative is a critical step towards strengthening EU-India partnerships in the green technology sector and fostering innovations in sustainable energy storage solutions, including lithium battery recycling, a growing focus area for both regions as they work towards clean energy goals.
