Laghu Udyog Bharati Delegation Visits CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology to Explore Research & Technology

A 15-member delegation from Laghu Udyog Bharati, led by Kerala State Vice-President Venkateswaran S, Director of Venki Bio Degrades Pvt. Ltd., visited CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST) on 9 March 2026 to gain insights into the institute’s research facilities and the innovative technologies developed and deployed by its scientists.

The delegation was welcomed by C. Anandharamakrishnan, Director of NIIST, along with P. Nishy, Head of Business Development, and senior scientists heading various R&D divisions. During the interaction held in the institute’s boardroom, the heads of different research divisions presented brief overviews of their expertise, ongoing research activities, and technology development initiatives.

Following the presentations, the delegates toured several research divisions to observe technology demonstrations, advanced laboratory facilities, and specialized scientific equipment. The visit provided an opportunity for the MSME representatives to understand how scientific innovations can be translated into practical industrial applications.

The programme was coordinated by R. S. Praveen Raj, Senior Principal Scientist in the Business Development Division of **Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – NIIST.
