On 13 March, Laghu Udyog Bharati Goa, representing the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state, had the opportunity to present its budget recommendations to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pramod Sawant at Mantralaya. The delegation, led by President Pallavi Salgaocar, General Secretary Mudit Agarwaal, Vice President Jayesh Raikar, Treasurer Vibhor Keny, and Joint Secretary Rahul Parab, highlighted the need for policies that promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability.
Key recommendations included the reduction of house tax for industrial units located outside designated estates, an industrial promotion subsidy for new and expanding MSME units, the establishment of skill development centers to enhance workforce capabilities, and the creation of an export facilitation center to boost MSME participation in global trade. Additionally, the team proposed setting up sector-specific industrial clusters, including a Food & Agro Processing Cluster to support allied micro and small enterprises, a Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Cluster to encourage investment in pharma and healthcare manufacturing, and an Electrical & Electronics Cluster in Tuem to strengthen Goa’s position in electronics manufacturing.
These recommendations reflect Laghu Udyog Bharati Goa’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly ecosystem that enables MSMEs to thrive, expand, and significantly contribute to Goa’s industrial and economic growth.
