The 3rd Monthly Meeting of Laghu Udyog Bharti, Phagwara was successfully held at Hotel Grand Ambassador, witnessing enthusiastic participation from members of the industrial fraternity. The meeting reflected the unit’s continued commitment to strengthening the MSME ecosystem in the region.
The session was presided over by President Inder Paul Khurana, while Secretary Arvind Bagga efficiently conducted the proceedings as the Master of Ceremony (MOC), ensuring a structured and engaging program.
The Chief Guest, S. Gurjant Singh, Deputy Director of Factories, addressed the gathering and shared insights on the latest government policies concerning industries. He emphasized that under the current policy framework, operating factories has become significantly easier than before. Highlighting the end of the “Inspector Raj” era, he stated that the department now functions as a facilitator, actively working to resolve issues faced by industrialists and promoting ease of doing business.
During the interactive session, President Inder Paul Khurana urged the Deputy Director to support the establishment of a Fire Brigade Station and Police Chowki in every industrial area to ensure enhanced safety and security for employees and employers alike. The Deputy Director assured members that the matter would be communicated to the concerned authorities for appropriate consideration.
The event was also graced by S. Santhok Singh, Assistant Labour Commissioner, who elaborated on the upcoming implementation of the new Labour Codes and their expected impact on industries. He was accompanied by Labour Inspector Harvinder Singh and Mr. Vikrant Saini, Member of the Labour Code Committee, who actively engaged with members and addressed their queries.
The keynote speaker, CA Prabhav Gulati, provided an in-depth analysis of key provisions of the Union Budget. He discussed significant policy changes introduced by the Hon’ble Finance Minister and explained their implications for industries and businesses, helping members better understand the evolving financial landscape.
The meeting saw the presence of several prominent members, including State IPP Ashok Gupta, S. Mukhinder Singh, Pawan Kumar Kalra, Ajit Singh Walia, Ashok Sethi, Ravinder Gulati, Puneet Gupta, Sumit Sharma, Rajinder Sondhi, Gini Bhalla, Gaurav Sahdev, Anuj Jain, Gaurav Handa, Ashwani Kansra, Ram Makheja, Mohinder Sethi, and many others, whose active participation contributed to the grand success of the event.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ashok Sethi, reaffirming the organization’s unwavering commitment to industrial growth, policy advocacy, and safeguarding the interests of the industrial community in Phagwara and across Punjab.
