A Laghu Udyog Bharati Delegation met with the Union Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Sh. Govind Mohan Ji on 23rd July’25. The LUB delegation was led by All India Organising Secretary Sh. Prakash Chandra ji, General Secretary Shri Om Prakash Gupta. LUB Office Bearers from Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman & Nicobar, Puducherry were also present.
The Delegation Sought relief for Micro & Small Manufacturing Industries in all Union Territories in regards to policies which need to be reviewed by the Govt. for ensuring ease of doing business. Issues such as exorbitant lease rents, startups, High Power Tariffs, delayed infra-Projects, review of new industrial policy of Andaman & Nicobar Islands were put up for the consideration of the Government.
Likewise, For Chandigarh Revision of building bylaws for flexibility, simplification of licensing processes, policy for optimal use of vacant plots, and formal recognition of the automobile sector as general industry. For Puducherry the Delegation submitted to Hon’ble Secretary to Include it for Defence Corridors & consider GST threshold limits of ₹40L instead of ₹20L, timely subsidy release, centralized licensing, establishment of an MSME DFO, Parity in GST thresholds, and systemic reforms to ensure timely payments. For Delhi Leasehold to Freehold Conversion, high O&M charges, water/electricity issues, title disputes. For J&K, A new, equitable industrial incentive package for both new and existing MSMEs is requested to avoid brain drain and foster employment & to Develop Jammu as a standalone tourist destination. Grant commercial rights for permissible activities in industrial estates.
Hon’ble Secretary assured the delegation of prompt and prioritized attention to the issues raised, with a view to facilitating effective and timely resolution of their concerns.
