The first monthly meeting of Mahila Ikai Jalandhar for the year 2025 was held at Gymkhana Club, Jalandhar, with IES Ishita Thaman, Deputy Director of MSME DFO Ludhiana, as the chief guest. The meeting began with the lighting of lamps and floral tributes to Bharat Mata, followed by a warm welcome extended by Aarti Sachdeva, President of Jalandhar Mahila Ikai, to the chief guest and Seema Dhumal, Punjab State Incharge for Women Work, LUB. Seema Dhumal extended new year wishes to the members and acknowledged the successful organization of the November-December 2024 Swayamsiddha Exhibition in Jalandhar, which was the first-of-its-kind event in Punjab organized by Mahila Ikai. She appreciated Ishita Thaman for her guidance and presence during the exhibition's inauguration, which greatly boosted the morale of the group.
During the meeting, Seema Dhumal outlined various projects that Mahila Ikai would undertake in 2025, focusing on empowering women entrepreneurs. Ishita Thaman shared insights about the Government of India’s schemes and initiatives for women entrepreneurs, including the Yashaswini Initiative, Cluster Development Programme, PMS, One-day Entrepreneurship Program, Five-day Management Development Program, and Six-week Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program. She encouraged Mahila Ikai to organize awareness programs on these schemes and suggested that members register with Udyam to avail the benefits. She also proposed organizing a seminar on Udyam Registration, facilitated by MSME DFO Ludhiana, to guide members through the free registration process.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Amardeep Shergill, Doaba Incharge. The event saw the participation of over 35 members and office bearers, including Ramanpreet Kaur Judge (General Secretary), Neetu Nanda and Pallavi Thakur (Joint General Secretaries), Saroj Thakur (Treasurer), Roohi Budhiraja (Joint Treasurer), and Deepika Rathour (Secretary). This meeting marked a promising start for Mahila Ikai Jalandhar in 2025, emphasizing women’s entrepreneurship, leveraging government schemes, and strengthening the group’s initiatives for the year ahead.
