Brief Summary of the Series of Meetings Held on 23rd July at Lok Sabha, Parliament, New Delhi
We are pleased to share that a series of impactful meetings were successfully held on 23rd July at the Lok Sabha premises, Parliament of Bharat, by representatives of Laghu Udyog Bharati, North Bengal.
CA Aditya Mitruka, President – North Bengal, along with Shri Omprakashji Mittal, Past National President and Prabhari of the Eastern Zone, held detailed discussions with several senior Union Ministers and Members of Parliament on key issues affecting the region.
The delegation expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, for his gracious presence at the recently held Udyami Sammelan in Kolkata. They also extended an invitation to him for an interactive session with members of the North Bengal unit in Siliguri, which he kindly accepted, assuring a visit in the near future.
The team also met Shri P.P. Chaudhary, Chairperson of the Joint Committee on One Nation, One Election and Member of the Finance and New Income Tax Bill Committees. The discussion focused on various concerns related to industry and trade.
In a significant meeting with Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the team discussed ideas for developing a holistic education system that encourages entrepreneurship among the youth. He too was invited to visit North Bengal.
A key meeting was also held with Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, where the delegation advocated for the inclusion of Tea Plantations under the ambit of the Agriculture Ministry. A formal memorandum was submitted, to which the Minister responded positively and assured a visit to the region soon to engage with relevant stakeholders.
Furthermore, the team met Hon’ble MP from Darjeeling, Shri Raju Bista, and apprised him of developments related to the ESZ (Eco-Sensitive Zone) notification. He assured his full support, regular follow-ups, and necessary coordination on the matter.
In addition to the above high-level engagements, separate meetings were held with senior officers, secretaries, and under-secretaries from relevant ministries to discuss pressing regional and industrial issues under the unit’s purview.
