The ONDC – TEAM Workshop & Awareness Programme was organized by NSIC, BO-Kolkata, under the Ministry of MSME's Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) initiative, in association with Laghu Udyog Bharati, on 3rd September 2025 at Galaxy Banquet Hall, The Park Hotel, Kolkata. The programme saw the participation of eminent dignitaries including Dr. A Gayen, Zonal GM, NSIC; Sri A Auddy, Chairman, Bengal Business Council; Sushri Perminder Jeet Kaur, Sr. Director, ASSOCHAM; Sri Amitoj Singh, Samhita SNP; Dr. (Sushri) Mou Sen, Jt. Director MSME, Govt. of West Bengal; Sri Somarat Laha, Solace; Shri Aranab Chatterjee, Regional Head, IndusInd Bank; Sushri Devjani Mandal, GM & Sr. Regional Head, IDBI Bank; Shri Vikash Yadav, AGM, Canara Bank; and Sri D Mukherjee, Dy. Director MSME, Govt. of West Bengal. From Laghu Udyog Bharati, Shri Vijay Agarwal, President – South Sambhag was the Guest of Honour, and Shri Saroj Kumar Sahoo, All India Executive Member participated as a panel member, alongside members representing handicrafts, leather, jute, gems & jewellery, and women-led MSMEs/artisans, including Shri D P Mukherjee, Genl. Secretary, West Bengal; Sri Paul Kumar Mitra, Working President – South Sambhag; Sri B Jha, Sr. Vice President – South Sambhag; and Sri R K Sobhasaria, GS, SB.
The programme aimed to equip artisans and MSMEs with practical knowledge and tools to integrate into the open digital commerce ecosystem (ONDC), providing hand-holding support for onboarding and enhancing digital commerce opportunities. Key topics discussed included expanding market reach, reducing the cost of doing business, leveraging digital public infrastructure, digitalization for competitiveness, enabling export readiness, convergence with government initiatives, localized e-commerce access, formalization of MSMEs, and nationwide outreach and education. Emphasis was placed on the strategic role of ONDC in designing the e-commerce ecosystem, supporting the implementation agency, assessing B2B and B2C requirements, prioritizing MSME categories, conducting “train the trainer” sessions, assisting in empanelment of eligible SNPs, preparing necessary reports, and providing any additional support requested by the Ministry of MSME. The workshop successfully bridged the gap between MSMEs/artisans and digital commerce, empowering participants to leverage technology for business growth and enhanced competitiveness.
