<p>JAMMU: In a pivotal meeting held at Udyog Bhawan, Jammu, representatives (reps) from diverse industry associations gathered to discuss pressing issues.</p><p>Chaired by Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, key attendees included Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh, and Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar.</p><p>Advocating for local industries, Ishant Gupta, Vice-President of Laghu Udyog Bharati J&K Unit, stressed the importance of a pur- chase preference policy, proposing that a significant portion of Government procurement be directed to local industrial units.</p><p>Gupta highlighted issues like delayed payments and called for ownership rights for existing industries.</p><p>He also urged streamlining the GST reimbursement process for industrialists to receive a full refund for the SGST component.</p><p>Treasurer, Laghu Udyog Bharati, Pranav Gupta, called for policy amendments, including authorizing CLU of other Kisms of lands and extending the policy deadline beyond September 30, 2024.</p><p>He appealed for waiving stamp duty for the purchase of land in pri- vate industrial parks and empha- sized the need to increase the budg- et for the turnover incentive, cur- rently pending at Rs 150 crores. Vice-President Mukul Gupta also contributed to the discourse.</p><p>Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo assured the delegations that their suggestions would be earnestly considered to stimulate J&K's industry, fostering economic growth and job opportunities for the youth.</p>
