Indore: The lack of month ly meetings of the Samva rdhan Boards at district le- vels has resulted in accumu lation of pending cases and unresolved matters of indu- stries, said industries under the banner of Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), Samvardhan Boards have been establis hed at state and district le- vels to address challenges encountered by Micro, Small and Medium Enter- prises (MSME).
LUB, through a memo- randum to the state govt, has requested regular monthly meetings of the Samva rdhan Boards in every dis trict of the state. Mahesh Gupta, former president of LUB Madhya Pradesh sta ted, "Samvardhan boards have been established in eve ry district with an objective to provide industries a plat- form to voice their concerns and obtain solctions. While these boards ought to conve ne monthly, numerous dis tricts are not organising the meetings, leaving industri es in a predicament."
The LUB said that the state govt should instruct every district to conduct monthly meetings and elevate significant issues to the state-level authority for swift resolution. The indust- ry association additionally demanded the elimination of dual taxation on industri al zones collected as 'Sand haran cess' and property tax. "MPIDC and MSME col lect 'Sandharan cess' while the civic body imposes pro perty tax on industries situ ated in industrial zones Each industry is paying du- al tax to the industries de partment and the civic body for identical property. This practice should cease for in dustrial welfare," said presi dent of LUB, MP, Rajesh Mishra.
The organisation requ ested the simplification of the fire NOC procurement process and exemption of small and micro industries from fire NOC require ments. "The process is complicated and on top of this, there is a provision of penalty from Jan 1, 2025, for failing to obtain the NOC This issue should be taken up in the 'Samvardhan bo ard' meeting to invite views of industries, and a simplifi ed process should be adop ted," said Gupta.
