<p>Tamil Nadu Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) electric vehicle (EV) skilling programme kicked off at the CODISSIA Fair Grounds in the city on Friday.</p><p>The programme is aimed at building the capacity of MSMEs and bolster Tamil Nadu's position as a premier destination for electric vehicle manufacturing. </p><p>The World Resources Institute (WRI) India and Facilitating MSMEs of TamilNadu (FaMe) launched the programme in collaboration with the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODDISLA), Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IF), Southern India Engineering Manufacturers Association (SIEMA) and Scientific and Industrial Testing and Research Centre(SiTarc).</p><p>Aimed at providing structured, practical and hands-on training opportunities for EV MSMEs and workers at all or ginizational levels, including senior management, mid-management, and both white and blue-collar workers, the first-of-its-kind skilling programme is scheduled to be offered in two parallel trucks from September to November.</p><p>It will capitalize on Combatore's existing industrial motors and pumps ecosystem to fast-track the entry of local bustnesses into the traction motor supply chain for EVs.</p><p>V Arun Roy secretary to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) department said, “Tamil Nadu is gearing up to be the global hub Tor EV manufacturing MSMEs in the state can seize this opportunity to becom key suppliers in this larity integrated and emerging in dustry.”</p><p>Ashwini Hime, assocla In programme director; WRI India, Thirugnanam, president, CODISSIA, and others were present.</p>
