KATHUA, June 13: Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), J&K, organized a one-day session here today to discuss the issues being faced by MSMEs in J&K.

The programme was organ ized by the Kathua unit of LUB.

Prakash Chandra, All India Sangathan Mantri (Organizing Secretary), LUB was the resource person.

The programme was attend ed by Arvind Dhumal, National vice president and Prabhari North Zone; Parveen Pargal, National Working Committee Member, Dinesh Gupta, presi dent LUB J&K; Vivek Rathore, State general secretary, Punjab; Vikrant Sharma, North Zone Head, Mass Communication; Aagam Jain, State general secre-tary, J&K; Ishant Gupta, State treasurer, J&K and North Himalaya Zone Head, Mass Communication and Manoj Goyal, president, Kathua unit.

Addressing the gathering, Prakash Chandra said that today India is one of the fastest-grow-ing economies in the world and is making rapid progress in semiconductors, technology, telecommunications and the space sector.

He said that MSMEs are the real backbone of the economy because they create employment opportunities and help in the development of villages and small towns.

Chandra said that LUB was formed to understand the prob-lems of MSMEs and raise them before the appropriate authori-ties for resolution.

Parveen Pargal demanded extension of the NCSS package and immediate release of bene-fits to 602 industrial units which have already applied online and offline and made investments. He also demanded a fresh 10-year Central Package for micro, small and existing industries in J&K.

Arvind Dhumal and Dinesh Gupta also spoke on the occa-sion.

On this occasion, Dinesh Gupta announced new office bearers for Kathua, including Manoj Goyal as president; Rajinder Gupta, senior vice pres-ident; Rahul Jain, vice president; Piyush Rastogi, general secre-tary; Mohit Bhatia and Arun Sharma-secretaries and Nitish Kumar, treasurer.

Ishant Gupta conducted the proceedings while Manoj Goyal presented vote of thanks.
