MSMEs Are the Backbone of India’s Economy; Laghu Udyog Bharati Committed to Resolving Industry Issues: Prakash Chandra
Kathua, : Laghu Udyog Bharati, Jammu & Kashmir, organized a one-day interactive session in Kathua to deliberate on the challenges faced by MSMEs in the Union Territory and to strengthen the organizational structure of the organization. The programme, hosted by the Kathua Ikai, witnessed the participation of industrialists, entrepreneurs, and office bearers from across the region.
The session was guided by Prakash Chandra, All India Sangathan Mantri, Laghu Udyog Bharati, as part of his extensive five-day North-West India tour covering Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Jammu & Kashmir. The programme commenced with traditional lamp lighting and concluded with the National Anthem.
Addressing the gathering, Prakash Chandra highlighted India’s rich industrial heritage and emphasized that MSMEs are the true backbone of the Indian economy, as they generate employment and contribute significantly to the development of villages and small towns. He stated that Laghu Udyog Bharati works continuously to understand the concerns of entrepreneurs, represent them before the government, and strive for their effective resolution. He also stressed the importance of quality, productivity, and cost competitiveness in today’s business environment.
National Vice President Arvind Dhumal elaborated on the vision and working style of Laghu Udyog Bharati and encouraged entrepreneurs to adopt modern technology and take advantage of government schemes to strengthen their businesses.
During the programme, Parveen Pargal submitted a memorandum highlighting key issues of Jammu & Kashmir industries, demanding the extension of the NCSS package, immediate release of pending benefits for 602 industrial units, and the announcement of a new 10-year Central Package for micro and small industries in the Union Territory.
State President Dinesh Gupta shared the contributions of Prakash Chandra and highlighted the activities of Laghu Udyog Bharati in Jammu & Kashmir. He also announced the new Kathua Ikai team with Manoj Goyal as President, Rajinder Gupta as Senior Vice President, Rahul Jain as Vice President, Piyush Rastogi as General Secretary, Mohit Bhatia and Arun Sharma as Secretaries, and Nitish Kumar as Treasurer.
The proceedings were conducted by Ishant Gupta, while Manoj Goyal delivered the vote of thanks. The programme reflected the commitment of Laghu Udyog Bharati towards strengthening MSMEs, addressing industrial concerns, and expanding its organizational reach across Jammu & Kashmir.
