Kolkata | 10 July 2026: A high-level coordination meeting was held between the State Bank of India (SBI), the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), and Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) to deliberate on a joint initiative for organizing MSME finance and entrepreneurship programmes at Berhampore and Kolkata under the banner of “Mission ₹100 Crore Spot Sanction.”
The meeting witnessed the participation of Shri Saroj Kumar Sahoo, All India Vice President, Laghu Udyog Bharati; Shri Ramesh Kumar Sovasaria, General Secretary, South Sambhag, Laghu Udyog Bharati; Shri Ratan Kumar Agarwal, Acting President, Modhya Bongo, Laghu Udyog Bharati; Shri Surya Narayan Panigrahi, General Manager, State Bank of India; Mr. Shams Tabrez, Deputy General Manager (SME), State Bank of India; Dr. Anupam Gayan, Zonal General Manager, NSIC; Shri Bipul Kumar Bag, Senior Manager, NSIC; along with the AGM, SBI, Cluster Heads of SBI, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, Shri Surya Narayan Panigrahi emphasized the importance of creating a strong pipeline of quality entrepreneurs through Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) and proposed organizing MSME Meets within the next 30 days. He assured that the State Bank of India would proactively extend financial assistance to both new and existing entrepreneurs, including support for new business ventures, business expansion, and takeover of eligible loan accounts.
Addressing the participants, Shri Panigrahi stated, “Don’t think of SBI as the SBI of 1955. This is the SBI of 2026. There is no ‘No’ in SBI for deserving entrepreneurs.” He also advised entrepreneurs to maintain a healthy CIBIL score and strong financial discipline, highlighting that good credit behaviour is the key to faster and easier access to institutional finance.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from SBI, NSIC, and Laghu Udyog Bharati to work in close coordination for the successful implementation of Mission ₹100 Crore Spot Sanction. The initiative aims to promote entrepreneurship, improve access to finance, generate employment opportunities, and strengthen the MSME ecosystem in West Bengal, contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat.
