Laghu Udyog Bharti (LUB), Jalandhar Unit successfully conducted its April Monthly Meeting with great enthusiasm, combining the celebration of Sthapna Diwas with an informative awareness session on the Invest Punjab Industrial Policy 2026. The meeting witnessed the active participation of 65 members, making it highly engaging and impactful. Distinguished guests included Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Former National President of Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation (FIEO), Smt. Seema Dhumal, Vice President of LUB Punjab, and Mr. Vikrant Sharma, Zonal Head, Mass Communication. The keynote session was delivered by Mr. Vishav Bandhu Monga, Former Joint Director, Department of Industries & Commerce, Punjab Government. The proceedings were efficiently conducted by Mr. Varun Bhalla, General Secretary of LUB Jalandhar Unit, and all guests were welcomed with a formal floral reception.
During the leadership address, Mr. Vivek Rathore, General Secretary of LUB Punjab, warmly welcomed the guests and encouraged members to actively explore the opportunities provided under the Industrial Policy 2026 for MSME growth and development. He highlighted that Laghu Udyog Bharti was established on 25th April 1994 with the guiding principle of “Nation First” and has now expanded across all 28 states and Union Territories with a strong network of over 70,000 members, including more than 5,500 women entrepreneurs. He also emphasized that LUB has been recognized by the Government of India as a legitimate representative body of MSMEs and plays an active role in policy advocacy, employment generation, economic growth, environmental sustainability, and promoting initiatives like Swadeshi, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Vocal for Local. In Punjab alone, LUB has over 1,750 members across 17 active district units.
Mr. Vishav Bandhu Monga, in his keynote address, explained the Punjab Industrial and Business Development Policy 2026 launched in March 2026, focusing on the major benefits available for existing MSMEs undertaking expansion, modernization, or diversification. He elaborated on capital subsidy support of up to 100% of Fixed Capital Investment (FCI), SGST reimbursement of up to 100% for 10 years, employment-linked incentives for workforce expansion, additional benefits for border districts like Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ferozepur, Fazilka, and Pathankot, enhanced incentives for thrust sectors such as EVs, semiconductors, IT/ITeS, and food processing, electricity duty exemption for up to seven years, stamp duty and registration benefits, and financial support for technology upgradation, environmental compliance, e-commerce adoption, and participation in trade fairs.
In the special address, Mr. Ashwani Kumar shared valuable insights about FIEO, established in 1965 by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, as a leading trade promotion body supporting Indian exporters. He explained how FIEO helps exporters expand into global markets, resolve policy and government-related issues, and provides platforms for dialogue on international trade matters. With over 50,000 exporter members across India, FIEO plays a crucial role in strengthening India’s export ecosystem. He highlighted that while LUB focuses on strengthening domestic MSMEs, FIEO helps them achieve global expansion, making both organizations highly complementary. He concluded by expressing gratitude to LUB Jalandhar and assuring continued support for export-related guidance. Members actively participated in discussions on LUB, FIEO, and practical strategies to maximize the benefits of the new industrial policy, making the meeting highly productive and meaningful.
