On the auspicious occasion of Ulta Rath (Bahuda Yatra), Laghu Udyog Bharati, Madhya Bengal Sambhag, marked a historic milestone with the successful inauguration of its Murshidabad District Unit during a grand Udyami Sammelan held at Berhampore on 24 July 2026. The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 500 entrepreneurs, industrialists, dignitaries, and stakeholders, reflecting the growing strength and commitment of the MSME community in the region.
The event was graced by Akhil Bharatiya Sangathan Mantri Shri Prakash Chandra Ji, Akhil Bharatiya Vice President Shri Saroj Kumar Sahoo, along with local MLA, Additional District Magistrate, revered Maharaj of Sargachhi Ramakrishna Math, State Secretary Shri Debiprasad Mukhopadhyay, Sambhag President Shri Ratan Prasad Konar, Sambhag Secretary Shri Arup Kumar Roy, District Sanghachalak, and entrepreneurs from across West Bengal. Representatives from SBI, UCO Bank, ONDC, NSIC, MSME, and DIC also participated in the programme, reaffirming their commitment towards promoting entrepreneurship, supporting MSMEs, and strengthening the industrial ecosystem of Murshidabad.
The Hon’ble Minister of State for MSME, Shri Ashok Kumar Dinda, who was scheduled to attend the programme as Chief Guest, could not participate due to an important legislative engagement in the West Bengal Assembly. However, his message conveying best wishes and support for the newly inaugurated district unit was shared with the gathering.
The inauguration of the Murshidabad District Unit marks an important step towards expanding the reach of Laghu Udyog Bharati and creating greater opportunities for local entrepreneurs. The Sammelan concluded with a collective resolve to empower MSMEs, encourage self-reliance, and contribute towards the vision of a developed and self-reliant India. The programme concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
