LUB Kerala State Executive Meeting Focuses on Skill Development, Organizational Growth and MSME Empowerment

Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) Kerala successfully organized its State Executive and Working Committee Meeting on 30 May 2026 at Flora Charishma Residency, coinciding with the Kerala Pravas of Prakash Chandra. The half-day meeting brought together national, state, and district-level office bearers to review organizational progress, discuss strategic initiatives, and address key challenges facing the MSME sector in Kerala.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Shri Prakash Chandraji and was presided over by Sureshkumar T.O.. Welcoming the participants, Venkatesh S. highlighted the importance of collective efforts in strengthening the organization across the state. Representatives from various districts and organizational levels actively participated in the discussions, reflecting the growing momentum of LUB Kerala’s activities.

A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a strategic proposal by State President Sureshkumar T.O. for establishing a Koushal Vikas Kendra (Skill Development Centre) in Palakkad. Emphasizing the region’s strategic importance due to the Kochi–Bangalore Industrial Corridor, he explained that the proposed centre would help create a skilled workforce capable of supporting emerging industries and generating employment opportunities in the region. The proposal was presented before the national leadership as a long-term initiative to strengthen Kerala’s industrial ecosystem.

During the review session, reports from Kerala’s three organizational zones were presented and analyzed. Discussions focused on membership expansion, district-level activities, leadership development, entrepreneur outreach, and strategies to enhance the visibility and impact of Laghu Udyog Bharati throughout the state. The meeting provided a valuable platform for sharing best practices and identifying opportunities for organizational growth.

In his keynote address, Prakash Chandra emphasized that the mission of Laghu Udyog Bharati extends beyond grievance redressal and advocacy. He stressed the importance of building trustworthy enterprises, promoting ethical business practices, and ensuring that consumers receive pure and quality products and services. According to him, sustainable industrial growth can only be achieved through integrity, quality, and social responsibility.

He further encouraged entrepreneurs to become ambassadors of ethical commerce and contribute to nation-building through responsible business practices. Drawing lessons from history, he observed that prosperity built on exploitation is short-lived, whereas genuine economic progress emerges from productive enterprise, innovation, and value creation. He also assured members that the national leadership would continue to support efforts aimed at resolving MSME-related issues and strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems across Kerala.

The meeting was also addressed by Vijayaraghavan, Sivakumar, Vinod N.K., and Narayanan Pillai K.R.. Their remarks focused on organizational strengthening, leadership responsibilities, membership development, and the future roadmap for expanding LUB’s reach and effectiveness in Kerala.

An interactive session held towards the conclusion of the meeting enabled representatives from different districts to raise concerns and discuss challenges affecting entrepreneurs, industrial units, and MSMEs. Participants highlighted several sector-specific issues and sought guidance from the national leadership. Responding to these concerns, Shri Prakash Chandraji assured the members of continuous organizational support and proactive engagement with the relevant authorities to facilitate effective solutions.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dharmaja Menon, who expressed gratitude to the national leadership, state office bearers, district representatives, and participants for their valuable contributions. The programme ended with the National Anthem, marking the successful conclusion of a productive and forward-looking meeting dedicated to strengthening MSMEs, promoting ethical entrepreneurship, and advancing the vision of a self-reliant and industrially empowered Kerala.
