Laghu Udyog Bharati Participates in Industry–Academia Meet at Assam Raj Bhavan
On the invitation of the Hon’ble Governor of Assam, Laghu Udyog Bharati actively participated in the Industry–Academia Meet held at Lok Bhavan, Assam, on 3 July 2026.
Representing the organization, Shri Partha Pratim Pathak, President, Laghu Udyog Bharati, and Shri Vivek Agarwal, Vice President, attended the meeting, which brought together senior officials from the Industries Department, representatives of universities and higher educational institutions, and leading industry stakeholders.
During the deliberations, the Laghu Udyog Bharati delegation emphasized the importance of strengthening industry–academia collaboration to bridge the existing skill gap and prepare students for the evolving needs of industry. The discussions focused on aligning academic curricula with industry requirements, promoting internships and apprenticeships, encouraging collaborative research, fostering innovation, supporting start-ups, and strengthening entrepreneurship.
The delegation also highlighted the need to establish Centres of Excellence, develop industry-supported laboratories, facilitate faculty–industry exchange programmes, and create structured partnerships between educational institutions and industries. These initiatives were proposed to accelerate research and development, technology transfer, indigenous innovation, quality employment generation, and sustainable industrial growth across Assam and the Northeastern region.
The meeting served as a significant platform for fostering stronger cooperation between academia, industry, and government, with a shared vision of building a skilled workforce and strengthening the MSME ecosystem through innovation-driven development.
